There are many exclamation marks in the text for a good reason.
As everyone knows, the State University of Rio de Janeiro - our highly-esteemed UERJ, the public institution that hosts our journal - has been facing one of the most troublesome times ever since it was founded.
In order to share information about the current scenario and the latest events, in this editorial we have transcribed the most recent announcement published in the Forum of Directors of Academic Units of UERJ, on February 10, 2017.
In this context, we emphasize our willingness to continue the work of DEMETRA, even in the face of such difficulties. Such conduct is based on the solid and constant support we have received from UERJ, the editorial board and the technical staff of the journal, thus ensuring the production and publication of DEMETRA in a very respectful manner to all authors, reviewers and readers who recognize and trust in the academic excellence of this great University.
We reaffirm our serious commitment to science and education, as usual!!
UERJ is alive!!
And so shall it remain!!
