Decadents, Dissidents and Outcasts in the Fin-de-Siècle.
No. 52 (2025)Between Naturalists, Symbolists and Decadents, the literature produced between 1880 and 1930 was full of marginalised or self-marginalised characters: eccentric, extravagant, perverted, weird, misanthropic, these so-called outcasts were often reinvented in the form of exceptional beings or ‘Chosen Ones’. Stigmatised and pathologised by criminology and psychology, they often appear in literature in an ambiguous way, revealing the contradictions of Latin American modernity: the growing presence of Afro-descendants in the cities, on the one hand, and the evolution of gender and sexuality norms associated with the emergence of the New Woman, on the other, bring with them the rejection of virility and the threat of feminisation of the national subject. The journal invites submissions of works that intersectionally address this proliferation of non-normative subjectivities, and the archive made up of textualities and a whole new vocabulary of affections, spaces, behaviour, subcultures or strategies of resistance. It is possible to ask: How is the universality of the erotic transformed according to the reconfigurations of gender and increasing racialisation? How does the body become a subject or a battleground for history? How does the discourse of non-belonging resist or justify the consolidation of the modern national subject? The dossier invites submissions of articles that develop these issues in Iberian and Ibero-American contexts, written in Portuguese, Spanish or English. Only papers submitted by researchers with a doctorate or, in the case of co-authorship, doctoral students in partnership with a second researcher with a doctorate will be accepted. All submissions are subject to blind peer review according to the rules for contributions.

Historical Perspectives in Linguistic-Grammatical Studies
No. 51 (2025)The 20th century, especially from its second half, marked a period of relative decline for philology, grammar, and diachronic studies in Brazil, primarily driven by a misguided belief that linguistics, the new science of the century, would surpass these studies and their researchers. However, time has shown that it is indeed possible to maintain philological, linguistic, and grammatical studies simultaneously, either integrated as a whole or viewed as different ways to approach and analyse languages. Due to this movement of returning to the past, the 21st century has experienced a growing interest in analysing language aspects from a perspective that could, in a somewhat simplistic manner, be described as "historical." In this dossier, titled "Historical Perspectives in Linguistic-Grammatical Studies," we seek papers in which different perspectives and approaches to historical, historiographical, philological, and/or diachronic analyses in linguistic-grammatical studies are presented, with the aim of valuing these aspects in the interpretation of language facts and phenomena. Therefore, we will accept papers that adopt any historical approach to languages, such as historical linguistics, the history of linguistics, the historiography of linguistics, grammar writing, linguistic description from a diachronic perspective, philological and grammatical studies, textual criticism, paleography, and others.
