Resumo
O presente artigo demonstra como o procedimento de consulta aos povos indígenas torna-se um mecanismo de participação democrática quando minorado o desequilíbrio de poder simbólico e adotado um viés descolonizante. Os métodos foram o dedutivo e o materialista histórico-dialético e a pesquisa bibliográfica. Para alcançar o resultado, utilizou-se as teorias do poder simbólico de Pierre Bourdieu e do perspectivismo ameríndio de Viveiros de Castro.

Abstract
This article demonstrates how the procedure of consultation with indigenous peoples becomes a mechanism of democratic participation when the imbalance of symbolic power is reduced, and a decolonizing bias is adopted. The methods used were deductive and historical-dialectical materialist and the research was bibliographic. The result was achieved using Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of symbolic power and the Amerindian perspectivism of Viveiros de Castro.
