This paper aims to describe and analyze the socio-historical trajectory of 19th-century marriage records through intertextual and interdiscursive relations, fundamental features for the consolidation of the studied genre as a discursive tradition. The corpus is composed of 688 marriage records contained in the first book of the Freguesia de São José da Carinhanha (1806-1857), Capitania of Pernambuco, whose documentary source is located in the Curia Diocesana de Bom Jesus da Lapa-BA. The linguistic phenomena are observed from a socio-historical perspective based on the theoretical contribution of Discursive Traditions (Koch, 1997; Simões; Costa, 2009; Kabatek, 2018) that allows establishing a relationship between the history of language and the history of texts and in the exercise of philological work (Lose, 2017) for the reading, understanding and transcription of the historical source. In this sense, this study is motivated by the following reflection: would it be possible to detect historical allusions related to intertextualities and interdiscursivities in the context of text production? The results obtained allow us to affirm that the models repeated and evoked, historically, reveal that intertextual and interdiscursive relations support the premise that every text follows the tradition of language and textual models.
