We will present the Carolina Maria de Jesus Literary Reading Circle, an extension project (FACED/UFC), whose objective is to collectively read literary works with themes/authorship of black people, LGBT+, women, indigenous people and PWD, promoting the practice of literary reading in teachers in initial and continuing training following the Freirean culture circle model, in which everyone participates in the construction of meanings, Cosson's (2020) studies on reading circles and Bajour (2012) and their discussions about the power of listening/sharing words in reading/discussion circles of literary works. This is qualitative research, of an exploratory nature, with data coming from the extension project approved by notice 15/2024 (PREX/UFC) that characterizes the device, data coming from a questionnaire prepared to select twenty internal and external components to the institution, and evaluation of the activities of the first semester of activities that took place in the year 2024. As results, the formative power of collective reading of literary works is perceived, promoting multiple interpretations and repertoire that can help teachers to position themselves in moments of choosing collections, authors and works in the exercise of mediating literary reading, in addition to racial and gender literacy and inclusiveness in the emancipatory perspective.
