The aim of this article is to present three current approaches to ‘new type of fascism’ in contemporary Marxism in order to understand the complexity involved in understanding this phenomenon. Therefore, the text is divided into three sections. The first section deals with fascism from the capitalism-democracy-authoritarianism relationship, focusing on the legal-political form, starting from the Pachukanian analysis and incorporating the classics of Brazilian Marxism. The second section addresses fascism from the concrete-abstract relationship through the contribution of the Frankfurt School debate, in particular, through Kurz’s critique of value and his reading of the ‘exoteric’ and ‘esoteric’ Marx. The third section deals with fascism as a ‘social antagonism in process’ through capitalist ‘social forms’ whose theoretical support is based on the Debate on Derivation of the State inspired by Holloway. Finally, brief concluding considerations are presented.
