The purpose of this article is to reflect on the feminist rewriting movement in the Brazilian context along three lines. The first is dedicated to bringing up experiences of rewriting that have already taken place (though not under this name), whether in direct confrontation in the legal sphere, as carried out by Esperança Garcia, or through People's Courts. The second, guided by ethical-methodological concerns, aims to raise questions about how some rewriting initiatives have been conducted in Brazil and some of the implications that can already be seen in these initiatives. Finally, we seek to present feminist rewritings as a way of producing historical justice for groups that have been historically violated by the state or with its consent, in the mobilization of analytical categories through the reframing of their historical, epistemic, and political bases, as we have seen through the mobilization of the thought of Lélia Gonzalez and Beatriz Nascimento, among others, by black jurists, and which has allowed us to speak of “escrevivências” in law. This analysis aims to examine how Brazilian legal culture is influenced by the re(orí)entations historically led by the historical uprising of black women.
