O ensino de língua portuguesa conduzido pela pesquisa científica: formando professores da Educação Básica

This article discusses a training course for Portuguese Language teachers in Basic Education focused on the development of scientific research in schools. The course, offered remotely as a university extension, constitutes a phase of the Piauí Portuguese Language Scientific Olympiad (OCLIPI). The theoretical foundations underlying the research approach as a teaching methodology are presented, as well as the course development stages, including the activities carried out in each module and the culmination, which consisted of the development of a research project by the participating teachers. The results of a course evaluation conducted by the participants, including the organization of the virtual environment, teaching materials, and pedagogical mediation, are also included. In conclusion, we argue about the importance of teachers being properly prepared, based on theoretical-methodological knowledge and reflections on their conceptions and practices, in order to adopt research as a pedagogical strategy, as it presents great potential to modify teaching and learning in Basic Education, above all, enabling students to move from the traditional position of spectators to that of protagonists of their own learning.
