This article aims to discuss teaching practices based on concepts of reading instruction, linguistic aspects, and textual production, in order to contribute to teacher training. Therefore, this is qualitative research aimed at reflecting on Portuguese language teaching and encouraging undergraduate students and teachers to pursue paths guided by an interactionist approach in which the student is a subject in the construction of knowledge. A methodological proposal for producing teaching materials will be shared and discussed, presenting options and emphasizing that such guidelines have led to positive results in the classroom. Theorists such as Faraco (2008), Freire (1989), Kleiman (1989), Geraldi (1999), Perini (2009), Travaglia, (2009), Callou (2009), Marcuschi (2010), Bezerra (2010), Bagno (1999), Schneuwly, Dolz (2004), Pécora (1999), Dell´Isola (2007), Koch; Elias (2015) are part of the basis we take for discussions.
