This study investigates the presence and vitality of lexical units of indigenous origin within the semantic field of "agropastoral activities" in Brazilian capitals, using data from the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil (ALiB) as its object of analysis. The central aim is to conduct a systematic lexicographic treatment of the indigenisms documented in this specific semantic field, contributing to the understanding of the diatopic distribution and social stratification of these lexical items in Brazilian capitals. The theoretical framework is based on Rodrigues' (1994) studies on Brazilian indigenous languages, Biderman's (2001) contributions to lexicology and lexicography, Cardoso's (2010) geolinguistic methodology, and Cunha's (1999) etymological investigations. Preliminary analysis of items such as "mangará," "mandioca," "macaxeira," and "aipim" recorded in Brazilian capitals indicates the preservation of indigenous forms coexisting with their equivalents of other etymological origins. These results contribute to the documentation of Brazil's linguistic heritage and provide valuable input for the development of lexicographic works that adequately reflect the contribution of indigenous languages to Brazilian Portuguese.
