Textbooks are productive sources of critical analyzes on the teaching of the Portuguese Language, mainly because they reveal the theoretical bases that support the approach to linguistic facts. After the creation of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), the expectation is that the manuals are in search of coherent and productive updates. Therefore, the problem question of this study emerges, whose centrality is the need to verify whether the T, after the Base's guidelines – with regard to the treatment of grammatical topics, more specifically, word classes –, signal advances. The objective is to analyze the activities on the topic 'noun' in copies of the 6th grade of Elementary School, from Editora Saraiva, in different cycles of the National Textbook Program (PNLD): Portuguese languages (2017-2019); Portuguese: connection and use (2020-2023); Portuguese languages (2024-2027). Methodologically, this is a bibliographical research and the development of the analysis has a qualitative approach, with criteria defined from Mendonça (2006). The results showed positive influences on the organization of one of the post-BNCC examples, although the most recent one still presents obstacles to implementing the guidelines for the practice of Linguistic Analysis, emphasizing activities of a normative nature.
