In this article, we present and discuss fundamental aspects for the continuing education of EJA teachers related to linguistic studies. We started from the reading of official Opinions on the educational policy of this program in order to find the arguments that led to the creation of a course, directed to such teachers, whose objective was to offer them possibilities of reflection on the way of working the language of use of the your students. Therefore, the theoretical basis used is based on the Semiolinguistic Theory of Discourse Analysis, by Patrick Charaudeau (2008), highlighting the Communication Contract and the Subjects of the Language Act. The didactic material consists of newspaper texts, of which the popular newspaper Meia hora stands out, since its texts allow observing the different uses of the language. In this work, we present the results obtained with the application of the course and the material produced for use in Portuguese Language classes at EJA.
