RUBEM FONSECA E IRMÃOS CAMPOS REFLEXÕES SOBRE LEITURA E TRADUÇÃO
Abstract
A tradução literária, notadamente no que diz respeito à traduçãopoética, é abordada de maneiras diferenciadas pelos autores quetratam da questão. Estudiosos como Emil Staiger, por exemplo, consideramsua impossibilidade, já que para ele “a poesia é singular e irreproduzível”(STAIGER, 1972: 51). Paul Valéry, por sua vez, defendeque “quanto mais resistente for o texto ‘aparentemente’ poéticoao ataque de qualquer transformação formal, menor será o seugrau de poesia” (VALÉRY, citado por ARROJO, 1992: 26). Essasvisões remetem a uma postura logocêntrica por parte de Staiger eValéry, pois de acordo com suas postulações a tradução de poesia seapresenta como uma atividade redutora, na medida em que o textooriginal estaria submetido às limitações da língua da tradução.Downloads
