PARCEIROS DA NOITE GAYS E VAMPIROS NA LITERATURA
Abstract
O poema acima (FERRAZ, 1990: 43), de um autor contemporâneo,reafirma uma irmandade literária existente há alguns séculos, desdeo Romantismo. Pelos óbvios motivos de encarnarem uma prática sexualtransgressiva em relação ao etos burguês, desviante do âmbito da genitalidadeperpetuadora da espécie, vampiros e praticantes do “amor que nãoousa dizer seu nome” freqüentemente têm sido representados com característicasafins, quando não se fundem em um mesmo personagem. Exemplosnotórios no cinema americano são a filha de Drácula, interpretadapor Gloria Holden no filme de 1936 (Dracula’s daughter), lésbica, ojovem vampiro sodomita do filme de Roman Polanski de 1967 (The fearlessvampire killers, ou, no Brasil, A dança dos vampiros), filho do conde,e a vampira bissexual interpretada por Catherine Deneuve em Fomede viver (The hunger), de 1983. A identidade gay é, sob muitos aspectos,herdeira da idealização romântica do homossexual outsider (COSTA,1992: 47). Ambos surgem no cenário ocidental, enquanto categorias discursivas,a partir do Iluminismo: vampiros no século XVIII, primeiro naimprensa, depois na poesia gótica alemã, e homossexuais no vocabuláriocientificista do século XIX (Idem: 11).Downloads
