Abstract

In this article, the objective is to evaluate the quality of the research developed in the field of Applied Linguistics (AL) on teacher training, focusing on the treatment given to the supervised internship in teacher training. For this purpose, a mapping of research carried out on the subject was made and a total of nine articles published in a book and an electronic magazine were analyzed. The analysis of the works was based on the list of the principles of teacher training and professional teaching knowledge developed by García (1999) in the context of didactics. It was found that, although the supervised traineeship is an emerging object in AL, your studies call attention to aspects that have not yet been properly observed by the general didactics and constitute important contributions to the didactics of the Portuguese language.
