Climate Justice and structural litigation in the Taquari Valley

Based on the observation that some groups have borne and continue to bear disproportionate burdens in relation to the floods that devastated the Taquari Valley in 2023 and 2024, the authors assess, in light of the Federal Constitution, the advisory opinions of international courts, and CONAMA Resolution n. 511/2025, the importance of giving centrality to climate justice and the fight against environmental racism in matters of disaster prevention and recovery of affected areas.
