This article examines the experience of the São Roque quilombo, located in Arroio do Meio (RS), which was severely affected by the May 2024 flood. Drawing on ethnographic and documentary data, we propose a reflection on how socio-environmental disasters amplify the historical violation of territorial rights and intensify social processes related to injustice and environmental racism in quilombola territories in Rio Grande do Sul.
