Objetivo: identificar a inserção da professora Josicélia Dumêt Fernandes na enfermagem, com ênfase no seu engajamento profissional e atuação na Associação Brasileira de Enfermagem. Método: pesquisa histórico-social, baseado no método de história oral, tendo sido seu projeto aprovado no Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa, CAAE: 28775614.2.0000.5531. Os dados foram coletados por meio da técnica de entrevista semiestruturada. Para tratamento dos dados optou-se pela análise de conteúdo temática. Resultados: destacou-se a centralidade da militância política em defesa de uma formação em enfermagem com qualidade e atenta às dimensões do ser-enfermeira: técnica, política e social, expressas em sua produção científica essencialmente voltada para a área da educação em saúde e em enfermagem. Conclusão: estudos que abordem a contribuição de enfermeiras militantes são importantes, de forma a favorecer a discussão de problemas expressos pela alienação e ausência de identidade – aspectos imprescindíveis para valorização e reconhecimento profissional.
ABSTRACT
Objective: to place Josicélia Dumêt Fernandes, as a teacher, in the nursing profession, emphasizing her professional engagement and role in the Brazilian Nursing Association. Method: social history research, based on the oral history method, approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE: 28775614.2.0000.5531). Data were collected by semi-structured interview and treated by thematic content analysis. Results: the study revealed the centrality of her political militancy in favor of quality in nursing education attentive to the technical, political and social dimensions of being-a-nurse, as expressed in her scientific production, essentially in the fields of health education and nursing. Conclusion: studies that address the contribution of militant nurses are important to fostering discussion of problems expressed in alienation and lack of identity, which are essential to valorization and recognition for the profession.
RESUMEN
Objetivo: identificar la inserción de la profesora Josicélia Dumet Fernandes en enfermería, con énfasis en su compromiso profesional y desempeño en la Asociación Brasileña de Enfermería. Método: investigación histórica y social, basada en el método de la historia oral: su proyecto fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación, CAAE: 28775614.2.0000.5531. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de la técnica de entrevista semiestructurada. Para tratamiento de los datos recolectados se optó por el análisis de contenido temático. Resultados: se ponen de relieve la importancia del activismo político en defensa de una educación en enfermería de calidad y atenta a las dimensiones del ser enfermera: técnica, política y social, expresadas en su producción científica, esencialmente volcada al área de la educación en salud y en enfermería. Conclusión: los estudios que aborden la contribución de enfermeras activistas políticas son importantes para facilitar la discusión de problemas expresados por la alienación y la falta de identidad - aspectos esenciales para la valorización y el reconocimiento profesional.
