DOS FANTÁSTICOS AO FANTÁSTICO: UM PERCURSO POR TEORIAS DO GÊNERO
Abstract
O termo fantástico, no domínio comum, pode significar: “1.aquilo que só existe na imaginação, na fantasia; 2. caráter caprichoso,extravagante; 3. o fora do comum; extraordinário, prodigioso; 4.o que não tem nenhuma veracidade; falso, inventado” (HOUAISS,Dicionário eletrônico da língua portuguesa, 2001). No domínio dosEstudos Literários, o Fantástico mantém, em sentido lato, essasmesmas acepções, e delas advêm traços marcantes ou definidoresdesse gênero movediço por natureza, dependendo da premissa de queparte cada estudioso. Contudo, elas representam o senso comum, eainda que não devam ser elementos totalmente descartáveis para umaanálise teórica, não podem ser tomadas como definidoras do gêneroliterário, carecendo de maior apreço científico-metodológico.
