Abstract

Gótico e ficção de crime se encontram unidos desde a origem e apenas o raciona-lismo de críticos modernistas os separou no século XX. Este artigo busca mostrar essa ligação por meio da análise de textos fundacionais, tanto da literatura gótica quanto da ficção de dete-tive, mostrando como traços de uma estão presentes na outra. A comparação percorre o mo-dernismo e o pós-modernismo para mostrar que essas duas manifestações literárias se encon-tram unidas pelo crime.
