VERBOS INCOMPATÍVEIS COM O PROGRESSIVO ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DO INGLÊS E DO PORTUGUÊS

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar, na medida do possível,os motivos que fazem com que determinados tipos de verbos sejamincompatíveis com as formas que expressam aspecto progressivo noinglês, enquanto o mesmo tipo de verbos é usado comumente no português.Pretendo também verificar a ocorrência do inverso, i.e., seexistem verbos que não admitem formas progressivas no português,enquanto verbos ingleses equivalentes são compatíveis com as formasprogressivas.
