CENTENÁRIO DA UNIVERSIDADE BRASILEIRA: PARA A HISTÓRIA DA UNIVERSIDADE DE MANAUS (1909/1910-1926)

Escola Universitária Livre de Manaus foi criada em 17 de janeiro de1909. Seus Estatutos foram aprovados em 2 de fevereiro e promulgadosem 12 desse do mesmo ano. A Escola Universitária foi instaladaem 15 de março de 1910 e, a partir de 13 de julho de 1913, passoua se chamar Universidade de Manaus por deliberação de suaCongregação. Estarão para sempre ligados à Universidade de Manausos nomes de Astrolábio Passos, seu Diretor Geral, e de JoaquimEulálio Gomes da Silva Chaves, seu idealizador. A Universidade deManaus deixou de existir em 1o de maio de 1926, sendo substituídapela Associação Vulgarizadora do Ensino, que se encarregou de algumasunidades remanescentes. Nestes anos de 2009 e de 2010, oPaís deve se lembrar da primeira universidade fundada e instalada naantiga América Portuguesa.Downloads
