A ELEGIA OVIDIANA

Atualmente, a elegia é considerada um gênero de poesia relacionadoaos problemas amorosos ou à melancolia. Em sua origem etimológica,ela provém de elegós, canto lutuoso. Contudo, desde oseu surgimento na Grécia, a elegia não se limitava somente à temáticado luto, sendo considerada como elegíaca toda poesia compostade dísticos elegíacos, ou seja, um hexâmetro e um pentâmetro. SegundoSpalding a elegia era “.... transição do ritmo uniforme da epopeiapara a variedade quase infinita dos sistemas líricos; era, portanto,a mediadora entre epopeia e poesia lírica” (Spalding, [s./d.], p.76). Distancia-se da épica, entretanto, pelo subjetivismo e espontaneidade.Downloads
