A FORMA DE ORGANIZAÇÃO INFORMACIONAL DO DISCURSO: UMA PROPOSTA DE ANÁLISE PARA O ESTUDO DO TÓPICO

Já há algum tempo, diversas correntes teóricas têm se debruçadosobre o problema da descrição do par tópico/comentário (ou tema/rema).O desenvolvimento de diferentes abordagens, visando a tornar mais claraa definição desse par de noções, leva, muitas vezes, a uma confusão terminológica,prejudicial para a tentativa de se esclarecer o problema. Adiscordância entre as diversas abordagens se deve, em grande medida, aofato de elas ignorarem que “a problemática do ‘tópico’ é um terreno exemplaronde se coloca (se impõe) a questão do relacionamento de diferentesníveis de análise” (Berthoud e Mondada, 1995, p. 205). Se umaabordagem adota, por exemplo, a frase como unidade de análise e descreveo tópico como o primeiro elemento dessa unidade, é de se esperarque ela apresente divergências em relação a outra abordagem, que descrevao tópico como um elemento responsável por assegurar a coerênciaentre os enunciados.
