A VERDADE MÍTICA E A FALA POÉTICA EM UBIRAJARA, DE JOSÉ DE ALENCAR
Abstract
No Ubirajara, José de Alencar pretendia teoricamente apresentaro índio ideal, o protótipo do “bom selvagem”. Por outro lado,
queria afirmar a verdade última do mito, o “dizer primordial”, já que a cultura antes do descobrimento, a cultura pré-americana, apresentava-se como modelo primordial, encerrando as possibilidades de futuras transformações a partir da contaminação histórica. Assim, Ubirajara seria uma forma primeira, um protótipo de todas as significações e de todos os valores que os arquétipos míticos nos trazem. Mircea Eliade no livro Aspectos do mito, define bem esta “perfeição dos primórdios”.
