UM DICIONÁRIO TUPI DE 1771 COMO CRÔNICA DA SITUAÇÃO LINGÜÍSTICA NA AMAZÔNIA POMBALINA
Abstract
O objetivo deste trabalho é utilizar um dicionário tupi, anônimo,escrito em Belém em 1771 (Biblioteca da Universidade de Coimbra/ms. 81) como fio condutor para o estudo da política lingüísticapombalina. Por meio dele, procuraremos conhecer a situação de usodo tupi e do português nesse período. Observaremos sinais de aumentodo uso do português em substituição ao tupi, assim como haviadeterminado o Diretório dos Índios em 1757 (ALMEIDA, 1997).
