UM DRAMATURGO ALTO PÓS-MODERNIDADE E MORTE EM THREE TALL WOMEN, DE EDWARD ALBEE
Abstract
No primeiro ato da peça Three tall women (1994), do dramaturgonorte-americano Edward Albee, a platéia assiste às conversasde três mulheres que não são identificadas por nomes. Para o leitorda peça, elas são identificadas pelas três primeiras letras do alfabeto.As idades das personagens variam dos vinte e seis anos que tem amulher identificada pela letra C, passando pelos cinqüenta e dois anosda mulher B, para chegar aos noventa e poucos anos da mulherA. As três encontram-se no luxuoso quarto da mais velha, que jazsobre um leito e sofre de várias enfermidades associadas à velhice.As conversas giram em torno das memórias da mulher A, além deseu cotidiano de mulher doente. A mulher de meia-idade parece seruma dama de companhia da mulher mais velha (sendo, por isso, solícitae paciente), enquanto a mais jovem é a representante do advogadoque administra os bens e recursos financeiros da moribunda. Elarepresenta a impaciência e a incompreensão típicas da juventude.Downloads
