O MENTALISMO, O EMPIRISMO E O FUNCIONALISMO NOS ESTUDOS DA LINGUAGEM

Abstract

Este artigo pretende caracterizar três correntes do pensamento queabordam questões referentes à aquisição do conhecimento: o mentalismo,o empirismo e o funcionalismo.A razão para a escolha deste tema deveu-se ao fato de os estudosna área de linguagem estarem sempre correlacionados com uma dessasabordagens e do fato de que nem sempre está óbvio para aqueles que iniciampesquisas em lingüística (aplicada), qual paradigma ou linha teóricaa se adotar como eixo epistemológico.
