This is a powerful and compelling interview about the life and activism of Professor and researcher Ana Paula Venâncio, entitled A CONVERSATION AROUND ANTIRACIST EDUCATION: DIALOGUING WITH LAW 10.639. The professor is a Black woman, an elementary school teacher, a researcher in the field, and an advocate in the antiracist struggle. She offers us an excellent narrative that politicizes and poetizes the lives of her students. The conversation is conducted by Allan Rodrigues and Tiago Ribeiro.
The dialogue begins with the participants’ visions for a fairer and more democratic society. They seek out clues to counter-hegemonic struggles in order to make Black lives visible and highlight the strength and potential of Black individuals. The exchange among the three speakers revolves around the creation of new ways of thinking, grounded in the work and lives of Black authors and intellectuals.
