Formas de adoecimento pelo trabalho dos agentes comunitários de saúde e estratégias de gerenciamento [Work-related illness and health management strategies among community health workers]

Este estudo objetivou identificar formas de adoecimento pelo trabalho dos agentes comunitários de saúde e as estratégias utilizadas por estes profissionais para gerenciá-las ou preveni-las. É uma revisão integrativa e a estratégia de busca foi consulta a bases eletrônicas internacionais de artigos publicados no período de 1986 a 2010. O levantamento bibliográfico foi realizado entre junho e dezembro de 2010 e foram selecionados 15 artigos. Os estudos mostraram formas de adoecimento de ordem física e psíquica, como: doenças de ordem circulatória, muscular e infecciosa, transtorno mental, estresse e síndrome do esgotamento profissional. Foram identificadas estratégias de gerenciamento como exercício físico, leitura, música e reuniões em equipe. Os resultados revelam ser importante a revisão do processo de trabalho do agente comunitário de saúde, com destaque para doenças ocupacionais implicando na elaboração de estratégias de gerenciamento, bem como incentivando os trabalhadores a refletirem sobre sua prática e segurança no trabalho.
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify work-related illnesses among community health workers and the strategies CHWs use to manage or prevent them. The integrative review method was used on data collected from international electronic databases for articles published from 1986 to 2010. The bibliographic research was conducted from June to December 2010 and 15 articles were selected. The results showed physical and psychic illnesses, such as circulatory, muscular and infectious diseases, mental disorders, stress and burnout syndrome. The management strategies identified included exercise, reading, music and team meetings. These results show it is important to review community health worker’s work processes, with emphasis on occupational diseases which recommend developing management strategies, and to encourage personnel to reflect on their practice and safety at work.
RESUMEN
Este estudio apuntó identificar las formas de adolecer por el trabajo de los agentes comunitarios de salud y lãs estrategias usadas por estos profesionales para gestionarlas o prevenirlas. Se trata de una revisión integradora y la estratégia de búsqueda fue consulta a bases de datos electrónicas internacionales de artículos publicados desde 1986 hasta 2010. La búsqueda bibliográfica se llevó a cabo entre junio y diciembre de 2010 y 15 artículos fueron seleccionados. Los estúdios han demostrado formas de enfermedad física y mental, tales como enfermedades en el sistema circulatorio, enfermedades musculares e infecciosas, trastornos mentales, estrés y síndrome de burnout. Se identificaron estrategias de gestión, como ejercicio físico, lectura, música y reuniones de equipo. Los resultados resultan ser importante revisar el proceso de trabajo del trabajador de salud comunitario, con énfasis para enfermedades laborales, lo que resulta en el desarrollo de estrategias de gestión, así como alentar a los empleados a reflexionar sobre su práctica y seguridad en el trabajo.
