O objetivo foi validar para o português, falado no Brasil, a escala End of life Comfort Questionnaire-Patient. A validação constituiu-se de tradução, síntese, retrotradução, revisão por comitê de especialistas, pré-teste e verificação das propriedades psicométricas. Utilizou-se W de Kendall para comparação entre os avaliadores. A versão final adaptada com 28 questões foi aplicada a pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca em acompanhamento no ambulatório de um hospital especializado em cardiologia. Adaptou-se o número de itens da Escala de Likert de 6 para 5, e adequou-se uma palavra no item 24. Encontrou-se valor do W de Kendall < 0,5 em um item da confiabilidade intra-avaliador e cinco no teste-reteste. Avaliaram-se 67 pacientes, idade de 55±11, 60% sexo masculino. A média da soma de acertos foi de 96 (Kendall 0.99). Em conclusão, o questionário foi validado para uso no Brasil.
ABSTRACT
The objective was to validate the End of life Comfort Questionnaire-Patient to Brazilian Portuguese. Validation consisted of the following steps: translation, synthesis, back-translation, review by experts’ committee, pre-test, and verification of psychometric features. Kendall’s W test was used for inter-rater comparison. The final version, adapted with 28 questions, was applied to heart failure patients assisted at the outpatient clinic of a cardiology hospital. The number of Likert Scale items was adapted from six to five, and one word in item 24 was adjusted. A Kendall’s W score < 0.5 was found for one intra-rater reliability item and five items on the test-retest. Assessments were conducted on a total of 67 patients, aged 55±11 years; 60% were male. The average sum of correct answers was 96 (Kendall 0.99). In conclusion, the questionnaire was validated for utilization in Brazil.
RESUMEN
El objetivo fue validar para e portugués brasileño la escala End of Life Comfort Questionnaire – Patient. El proceso consistió de traducción, síntesis, traducción inversa, revisión por comité de especialistas, pre-test y verificación de propiedades psicométricas. Se utilizó W de Kendall para comparaciones entre evaluadores. La versión final adaptada, con 28 preguntas, se aplicó a pacientes con insuficiencia cardíaca bajo seguimiento en el ambulatorio de un hospital especializado en cardiología. Se adaptó el número de ítems de la Escala de Likert de 6 a 5, se adecuó una palabra en el ítem 24. Se halló valor de W de Kendall < 0,5 en un ítem de confiabilidad intra-evaluador y cinco en el test – re-test. Fueron evaluados 67 pacientes, edad de 55±11, 60% del sexo masculino. La media de la cantidad de aciertos fue de 96 (Kendall 0,99). En conclusión, el cuestionario fue validado para Brasil.
