Atuação do agente comunitário de saúde: conhecimento de usuários [Community health agent role: users’ knowledge]

Este estudo objetivou analisar o conhecimento dos usuários sobre a atuação do agente comunitário de saúde das equipes da estratégia saúde da família e descrever as ações por ele realizadas. Estudo descritivo, qualitativo, realizado em unidades de saúde da família de um município baiano. A coleta de dados, realizada entre maio e junho de 2012, utilizou entrevista semiestruturada com 17 usuários. Foram evidenciadosw o desconhecimento sobre o trabalho do agente comunitário de saúde e limitações nas ações desenvolvidas por este profissional, o que fragiliza a relação entre o agente comunitário de saúde e a comunidade. Destacaram-se ainda a integração estabelecida entre usuários, agente comunitário de saúde e enfermeira e a visita domiciliar como principal ação do agente comunitário de saúde. É preciso desenvolver estratégias que potencializem o vínculo entre agente comunitário de saúde e usuários.
ABSTRACT
This research aimed at analyzing users’ knowledge of the community health agent on the family health strategy teams and [2] at describing his/her actions. A descriptive and qualitative study conducted in family health units of a municipality in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Data collection made from May to June, 2012 used semi-structured interviews with 17 users. Results evinced lack of knowledge about the community health agent’s work as well as limitations in the actions by that professional - weakening factors on the relation between community health agent and community. Integration among users, community health agent and nurse as well as home visit stood out as main community health agent’s action. Strategies to increase the bond between the community health agent and users are required.
RESUMEN
Este estudio objetivó analizar el conocimiento de los usuarios sobre la actuación del agente comunitário de salud de equipos de estrategia salud de la familia y describir las acciones por él realizadas. Estudio descriptivo, cualitativo, realizado en unidades de salud de la familia en una ciudad de Bahía-Brasil. La recolección de datos, entre mayo y junio de 2012, utilizó entrevistas semi-estructuradas con 17 usuarios. Fueron evidente la falta de conocimiento sobre el trabajo del agente comunitario de salud y limitaciones en las acciones emprendidas por él, lo que debilita la relación entre agente comunitario de salud y comunidad. Se destacó la integración establecida entre los usuarios, agente comunitario de salud y enfermera, y la visita domiciliaria como principal acción del agente comunitario de salud. Es necesario desarrollar estrategias que aumenten el vínculo entre agente comunitario de salud y usuarios.
