Empoderamento de adolescentes femininas abrigadas: saúde sexual na perspectiva do Modelo Teórico de Nola Pender [Empowerment of female adolescents at shelters: sexual health in terms of the Theoretical Model of Nola Pender]

Objetivos: descrever as atitudes e comportamentos sexuais de adolescentes em situação de acolhimento e analisar as repercussões dessas atitudes sobre a saúde sexual, considerando o Modelo Teórico de Nola Pender. Método: estudo qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório. Após a aprovação pelo Comitê de Étca em Pesquisa (número 279A/2013), foram entrevistadas oito adolescentes entre 12 e 18 anos de idade, em situação de acolhimento no município do Rio de Janeiro, em 2014. Foi utilizado roteiro de perguntas baseado no Diagrama de Nola Pender sobre promoção da saúde. A análise de conteúdo dos dados indicou a categoria Promoção da saúde sexual: perspectva de gênero e empoderamento feminino de adolescentes em acolhimento. Resultados: observaram-se comportamentos e atitudes de promoção da saúde sexual das adolescentes abrigadas, tais como: aumento do uso de preservativos e percepção quanto à vulnerabilidade sexual. Conclusão: as atitudes e práticas sexuais das adolescentes demonstram certa autonomia, protagonismo e, consequentemente, o empoderamento delas, favorecendo a promoção de saúde sexual e reprodutiva.
ABSTRACT
Objectives: to describe the sexual atitudes and behavior of adolescent girls in shelters, and to analyze the repercussions of these atitudes on their sexual health, in view of the theoretical model of Nola Pender. Methods: afer approval by the Research Ethics Com- mitee (number 279A/2013), this exploratory, qualitative, descriptive study interviewed eight girls, from 12 to 18 years old, at shelters in Rio de Janeiro City, using a structured interview script based on Nola Pender’s Health Promoton Diagram. Content analysis indicated the category Sexual Health Promoton: gender perspective and empowerment of adolescent women at shelters. Results: sexual health promoton behavior and atitudes observed among these adolescents at shelters included: increased use of condoms, and perception of sexual vulnerability. Conclusion: the adolescents’ atitudes and sexual practices demonstrated a certain autonomy, assertive participation and consequently empowerment, thus contributing to promoton of their sexual and reproductive health.
RESUMEN
Objetivos: describir las actitudes y los comportamientos sexuales de las adolescentes en situación de acogida y analizar el impacto de estas actitudes sobre la salud sexual teniendo en cuenta el modelo teórico de Nola Pender. Método: estudio cualitativo, descriptivo y exploratorio. Después de la aprobación del Comité de Étca en Investigación (número 279A/2013), ocho adolescentes entre 12 y 18 años en la situación de acogida en el municipio de Río de Janeiro fueron entrevistadas. Se utlizó un guion de preguntas basado en el diagrama de Nola Pender sobre promoción de la salud. El análisis de contenido de los datos indica la categoría Promoción de la salud sexual: una perspectiva de género y empoderamiento femenino de adolescentes en situación de acogida. Resultados: se observaron conductas y actitudes de promoción de la salud sexual de las adolescentes en abrigo, tales como: el aumento de uso de condones y la percepción de vulnerabilidad sexual. Conclusión: las actitudes y prácticas sexuales de las adolescentes muestran una cierta autonomía, liderazgo y, por lo tanto, su empoderamiento, favoreciendo la promoción de la salud sexual y reproductiva.
