Abstract
Miguel Torga é animado por uma força vital responsável porseu perpétuo descontentamento com o status quo. Há uma energiaque o impele além, que o leva a continuamente refletir, questionarse.Não se encerra, entretanto, em uma torre de marfim, voltado paraa própria realidade. Muito outra é a verdade de Torga! Peno cilíciosda comunidade, informa no poema Fraternidade65 . Se há uma consciênciavoltada para a sua própria alma, também há um sentimentode fraternidade para com as pessoas que habitam o seu universo português.O seu humanismo é, portanto, dúplice: dobra-se sobre simesmo, abarcando também o outro, quer seja o indivíduo, a naturezaou o espaço social. Sobre eles, Torga derrama compreensão e amor.
