Abstract

Parte-se aqui da obra romanesca de Inglês de Sousa (1853-1918) e de discussões suscitadas pela sua recepção crítica para discutir estratégias da composição literária de corte realista/naturalista e a pretensão de fidelidade entre a narração e seu objeto. Procuramos levar em consideração as contribuições provenientes dos trabalhos de Lilian Furst e Garry Potter para incrementar esse debate e lançar uma questão sobre o estatuto de verdade da prosa com essa característica.
