By asking about the potential of the arts as a means of academic research and writing, this text presents elements that involve a research-experimentation, inseparable from a writing-life, of the essayistic type, which uses poetic force to create polysemic narratives that emerge as epistemological bets in the field of education. To this end, it problematizes the role of academic writing and research in contemporary times, while at the same time inviting us to experiment with an essayistic writing that opens up to chaos, uncertainty and paradox, seeking to express the unspeakable and the unknown. Academic writing is thus conceived as a performative act, an essay in life, which transcends the boundaries between science, art and philosophy. In this sense, we suggest a research-experimentation, intertwined with life, inviting a multiple and open experience, establishing a writing that celebrates existence, that is powerful and pulsating, capable of transforming the writer-researcher in the act of writing-researching in education.
