The objective of this study is to identify the legal bases and their conceptual principles in the construction of a pedagogical proposal for accessibility for an accessible theater school, in our context the “Martins Pena Theater School”, which includes people with disabilities in the audience and on the stage of the theater space. The investigation is based on a methodology of bibliographical research of documents of national laws, opinions and decrees. The theoretical bases of the study are based on the concepts of accessibility, support, functionality and contemporary conceptions that replace the medical model of disability with the social model. It is concluded that the legal principles of education and culture policies can offer subsidies and references for a proposal for an accessible theater school if they incorporate specific disciplines, accessibility centers, teachers and instructors with disabilities with an emphasis on the protagonism of this segment, as well as the adaptations, supports and methodologies for achieving attitudinal, physical and communicational accessibility.
