Abstract

This paper presents the experience report of two educators committed to Education in/for human rights. With eyes open to the social context and the importance of this field, the text highlights the relevance of a sensitive educational approach committed to and based on the strengthening of territorial narratives. Supported by the National Guidelines for Human Rights Education, the practices socialized here connect with the conception of Education as a practice of freedom, as proposed by Paulo Freire and bell hooks. We bring to the discussion the carrying out of activities within the context of a non-formal education institution, which works with children and young people from the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The objective is to highlight the formation of subjects aware of their dignity and reflective about their rights. From the students' feedback and the (re)constructed reflections, the strengthening of narratives can be seen as an important tool for the experience of human rights and the consequent practice of freedom.

Erica Pereira dos Santos Nascimento, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro

Doutoranda em Ciências Humanas - Educação pela PUC-Rio, Pedagoga (2015) e Mestra em Educação (2021) pela mesma universidade. Educadora em/para Direitos Humanos, tem experiência docente na área do Ensino Fundamental I e II. Participou do Programa de Intercâmbio Acadêmico na Universidad Autônoma de Madrid - Espanha (2014). Atualmente é integrante do Grupo de Estudo sobre Cotidiano, Educação e Culturas (GECEC-PUC/Rio). Pesquisa juventudes, processos formativos e interculturalidade/decolonialidade.

Ana Gabriela Saba de Alvarenga, Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Doutora em Memória Social (2021) pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Mestre em Educação (2013) e Graduada em História (2010) pela Universidade Federal Fluminense. Em 2017 e 2018 cumpriu estágio docente na disciplina de Antropologia dos Museus, na graduação da Escola de Museologia da UNIRIO. Atualmente é docente externa do Programa de Pós-graduação em Patrimônio, Cultura e Sociedade da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (PPGPACS/UFRRJ) e integrante do Grupo de Pesquisas sobre Cotidiano, Educação e Cultura(s) na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (GECEC/ PUC Rio). Professora e elaboradora de oficinas com a temáticas de pesquisa: Memórias, Patrimônio Cultural e Educação Patrimonial. Educadora em projetos de Educação Patrimonial voltados para professores e alunos da rede pública em diversos munícipios do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Consultora na elaboração, desenvolvimento e finalização de projetos de Educação Patrimonial em relação ao Patrimônio Cultural Brasileiro, especialmente na área da Arqueologia.
