TRILHANDO CAMINHOS PARA A LIBERDADE: PRÁTICAS DE EDUCAÇÃO EM/PARA OS DIREITOS HUMANOS NA FORMAÇÃO DE CRIANÇAS E JOVENS

This paper presents the experience report of two educators committed to Education in/for human rights. With eyes open to the social context and the importance of this field, the text highlights the relevance of a sensitive educational approach committed to and based on the strengthening of territorial narratives. Supported by the National Guidelines for Human Rights Education, the practices socialized here connect with the conception of Education as a practice of freedom, as proposed by Paulo Freire and bell hooks. We bring to the discussion the carrying out of activities within the context of a non-formal education institution, which works with children and young people from the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The objective is to highlight the formation of subjects aware of their dignity and reflective about their rights. From the students' feedback and the (re)constructed reflections, the strengthening of narratives can be seen as an important tool for the experience of human rights and the consequent practice of freedom.
