The following article critically reconstructs the central thesis that Alexander Stark develops in his recent book on the interdisciplinarity of legal dogmatics – Interdisziplinarität der Rechtsdogmatik –, still with no translation in Portuguese (and English). Before that, it presents the context of the German academic legal discussions in which the book was conceived. Moreover, it also suggests the importance of this debate for Brazilian legal science and its legal dogmatics.

Keywords: Legal Dogmatics; Interdisciplinarity; Matter of Method; Legal Practice; Matter of Competence.
