The use of technology in the educational space by indigenous teachers requires the training of skills to allow teachers to interact efficiently with students and provide improvement of teaching and learning. For teachers it is a period of adaptation with digital tools and pedagogical conceptions that guide teaching with the use of technology. This study aimed to analyze scientific works on teaching in Indigenous School Education (IEE) and to identify challenges in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the indigenous school environment. The methodology consisted in systematized bibliographical research, with selection of investigation of scientific studies produced between 2009 and 2020, corresponding to the second decade of the 21st century, a period of effervescent technological changes. From the analysis of the studies, it was evidenced that teachers face difficulties, such as the absence of digital tools to teach, cases in which teachers possess digital technological resources but were not able to use them due to the lack of training, as well as schools without internet and other situations identified as problematic. Data was analyzed in the light of Bardin (2016), with application of content analysis, classification and inference. It was concluded that teaching in the ISS and the use of ICT by teachers is important for the learning of students, their development as citizens and that it must occur in an ethical and critical way, with guaranteed training for teachers and respect to their knowledge, contexts and experiences.
