THE BLACK LITTLE PRINCE AND THE TEACHING INTERNSHIP FROM AN ANTI-RACIST PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

This research concerns pedagogical action themed by Black Little Prince as a resource for valuing the ethnic-racial dimension of the child, concretized in supervised internships with children in Preschool and children in Elementary School, in the Pedagogy program at Acaraú Valley State University. The research objective is to point out learning pathways for teaching based on the anti-racist education. The methodology was a qualitative approach (Lüdke; André, 2022), with the pedagogical practice’s device related to the Tree Metaphor (Lima, 2009). The results obtained are the intertwining of black identities and ancestry in anti-racist teaching through interventions that connected children to afro-brazilian culture. In summary, black identities were nurtured by the baobab’s symbolism in the story of Black Little Prince, in which the self-baobab constitutes himself in the collectivity, history and blackness’s protagonism in the social conjuncture.
