A QUEBRADA É QUENTE: Gênero e infância na periferia de São Paulo

Pensar os marcadores de gênero e infância na periferia é um desafio múltiplo. Há uma relativa ausência nos debates de gênero o recorte de infância e nos estudos de infância há um distanciamento de se considerar o marcador social de gênero. Essa inquietação e curiosidade teórica e analítica suscitou a realização de uma etnografia em uma Escola Municipal de Educação Infantil no extremo norte da cidade de São Paulo. A intersecção dos marcadores de gênero, infância e periferia foram pensados a partir da performatividade de gênero das crianças no território, ou de uma cartografia social do gênero naquele contexto. Desta forma, tornou-se possível analisar as relações e sociabilidades das crianças com os demais atores sociais, as quais apontaram para alguns qualificadores e referenciais de gênero na periferia – o funk e o universo do crime. As expressões das crianças estavam atravessadas por representações e uma estilística de gênero socialmente valorizada e comumente compartilhada.
