HISTÓRIAS DO CÁRCERE: ANÁLISE LINGUÍSTICO-DISCURSIVA DAS NARRATIVAS DE DETENTAS DE UMA PENITENCIÁRIA FEMININA STORIES FROM PRISON: LINGUISTIC-DISCURSIVE ANALYSIS OF THE NARRATIVES OF INTAKERS OF A WOMEN'S PENITENTIARY

Abstract

The issue of women in the Brazilian Prison System is still a subject little covered by society, including by the bodies and institutions responsible for this area. This happens because women are linked to the image of vulnerability and the historical context confirms that it is more common for men to be included in penitentiaries. However, on a global scale, Brazil ranks fourth among the countries that incarcerate women the most in the world. Therefore, this research aims to find out: Who are these women? What do they have to tell? Who were they before and how do they see themselves after the incarceration process? What contributions do your narratives bring to other women in society? How are they constructed discursively? To this end, it analyzes the stories of women who live in prison at the Balsas Penitentiary - MA to highlight the discursive aspects of their narratives. The methodology adopts interpretive qualitative research approaches, using Narrative Analysis and Conversation Analysis studies as theoretical frameworks. Even when it comes to procedures, it is simultaneously bibliographic and field, carried out through narrative interviews. The discourse gains prominence with regard to the orality of the language and the textual processes of the construction of the spoken text that make it possible to understand the aspects that make up the identity of the participants in order to highlight the social group represented by the prisoners. The results reveal the importance of discourse in getting to know an individual, their trajectory and perspectives during the interaction
