Estratégias para o acolhimento dos familiares dos pacientes na unidade de terapia intensiva

Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, realizada na unidade de terapia intensiva de adulto de um hospital público no Sul do Brasil, com o objetivo de identificar quais são as estratégias de acolhimento implementadas pelos enfermeiros, aos familiares dos pacientes desta unidade. A coleta foi realizada em julho de 2008, com seis enfermeiros, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e observação. Para análise, utilizou-se como referencial metodológico o discurso do sujeito coletivo. Os resultados deram origem a três discursos: recepcionar os familiares na admissão; o contato telefônico com os familiares; e a relação dialógica no horário de visitas. Entre as estratégias adotadas encontram-se: preparar o familiar para entrar na unidade; informar por telefone quando ocorre piora do quadro clínico e na alta; estar presente a beira do leito durante a visita para esclarecimento de dúvidas.Downloads
