Objetivo: analisar as atividades de atenção à saúde mental desenvolvidas por equipes de uma unidade de atenção primária à saúde em Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil. Método: estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, cuja coleta de dados foi realizada entre abril e maio de 2013, através de entrevista semi estruturada, com sete profissionais da Estratégia Saúde da Família. Utilizou-se para tratamento dos dados a análise de conteúdo. Projeto de pesquisa aprovado em comitê de ética, com CAAE: 13435713.2.0000.5052. Resultados: percebeu-se que os profissionais apresentaram dificuldades para implantar a assistência aos portadores de transtorno mental por falta de horários na agenda, carência de treinamento, bem como desafios na implementação do apoio matricial. Conclusão: faz-se necessário utilizar-se de dispositivos e estratégias de ação com competência técnica, ética e humanística para habilitar os profissionais da estratégia saúde da família na atenção à saúde dos portadores de transtorno mental.
ABSTRACT
Objective: to examine the mental health care activities performed by primary health care teams at a facility in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. Method: in this qualitative, descriptive study, data was collected in April and May 2013 by semi-structured interviews of seven Family Health Strategy personnel. The data was treated by thematic content analysis. The ethics committee approved the research project (CAAE:13435713.2.0000.5052). Results: personnel were found it difficult to provide care to the mentally ill for lack of time in their schedule, lack of training, as well as challenges in implementing matrix support. Conclusion: provisions and action strategies need to be deployed with technical, ethical and humanistic competence in order to enable Family Health Strategy personnel to provide health care to patients with mental disorders.
RESUMEN
Objetivo: analizar las actividades de atención a la salud mental desarrolladas por equipos de una unidad de atención primaria de salud en Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil. Método: estudio descriptivo, de enfoque cualitativo, cuya recolección de datos fue llevada a cabo entre abril y mayo de 2013, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas junto a siete profesionales de la Estrategia Salud de la Familia. Se utilizó, para el tratamiento de datos, el análisis de contenido. Proyecto de investigación aprobado por el comité de ética, CAAE:13435713.2.0000.5052. Resultados: se percibió que los profesionales presentaron dificultades para implantar la asistencia a los portadores de trastorno mental por falta de horarios en la agenda, carencia de entrenamiento, así como desafíos en la implementación del apoyo matricial. Conclusión: se hace necesario utilizar dispositivos y estrategias de acción con competencia técnica, ética y humanística para habilitar a los profesionales de la Estrategia de Salud Familiar en la atención a la salud de los portadores de trastorno mental.
