Processo de Avaliação pelos Pares

The Revista Enfermagem UERJ adopts a meticulously rigorous and well-structured peer review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the articles it publishes, focusing especially on nursing and healthcare areas. The process begins with a preliminary evaluation conducted by the editors, who verify whether the submitted manuscript aligns with the journal's mission and editorial line, aiming to ensure that only works meeting the criteria of relevance and thematic adherence proceed to subsequent stages.

After this initial validation, the manuscripts are forwarded to a peer review process, in which at least two anonymous specialists in the field of nursing are tasked with conducting a detailed qualitative evaluation. Each reviewer has a period of 15 to 25 days to analyze the content and provide constructive feedback, including criticisms and suggestions for improvement. This review method ensures the impartiality and objectivity of the evaluation process.

The opinions issued are then compiled by the editorial team of the Enfermagem UERJ Journal and sent to the authors, allowing them the opportunity to revise their work according to the received suggestions. At this stage, authors can make suggested adjustments and resubmit their articles for a new round of evaluation, which is crucial to ensuring that the proposed modifications enhance the academic quality of the manuscripts.

After receiving the revised articles, these are re-evaluated to verify whether all the recommendations of the reviewers have been duly incorporated. The final selection of articles for publication takes into account criteria such as the score assigned by the reviewers, thematic relevance, academic contribution, institutional diversity of the authors, as well as the inclusion of articles in different languages, as required by academic evaluation bodies.

Throughout the process, authors are kept informed of the progress of the evaluation through the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER/OJS), which facilitates transparent and effective communication among all involved in the editorial process.

Exceptionally, the editorial team of the Enfermagem UERJ Journal may invite renowned experts to contribute articles. These invitations are directed to professionals recognized for their expertise in specific areas of nursing, offering an enriching and complementary perspective to articles submitted through the regular submission process.
