Journal History

The first issue of Revista Enfermagem UERJ appeared in 1993 with the aim of disseminating ideas and providing a theoretical basis for care, addressing the problems of survival of people and collectives, and developing reflections and proposals that stimulate the full exercise of the civil rights of its readers.

Since 2013, the publications have been officially bilingual, in Portuguese and English. Since 2012, the publications have appeared in both printed and electronic formats, and since 2014, exclusively in electronic format. Since 2017, it has been published continuously with an annual volume of at least 80 articles.

With the establishment of the Rev@Enf portal of VHL care, the collection was presented on a platform managed by SciELO methodology from volume 12 of 2004. The journal was included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) collection.

In addition, the journal's articles can also be found at BDEnf, Lilacs, Biblat, EBSCO, Free Medical Journals, and Latindex, which increases the reach of the published materials. Thus, the journal covers mainly Latin American and Caribbean countries and is also distributed in the United States, Canada, France, Sweden, Portugal, and Spain.
