[EM EDIÇÃO] Espiritualidade/religiosidade como elemento terapêutico na adaptação da pessoa à estomia intestinal

Objetivo: explorar a percepção sobre a espiritualidade/religiosidade na adaptação da pessoa à estomia intestinal, na perspectiva da própria pessoa. Método: estudo exploratório, abordagem qualitativa, com 12 pessoas que apresentavam estomia intestinal há menos de quatro meses, atendidas em um Programa de Atendimento Multidisciplinar ao Paciente Ostomizado. Coleta de dados realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas entre agosto e novembro de 2021, analisadas com fundamentação na análise de conteúdo, modalidade temática. Resultados: emergiram três categorias temáticas: A espiritualidade/religiosidade se manifesta por meio da divindade/família/amigos; A espiritualidade/religiosidade ajuda a ressignificar o processo de adaptação à estomia; e A espiritualidade/religiosidade me fez acreditar no impossível. Considerações finais: a espiritualidade/religiosidade revela-se como uma experiência de proteção e amparo concretizada por meio da divindade, da família ou dos amigos, sendo percebida como elemento terapêutico para ressignificar o processo de descoberta da doença até a adaptação da pessoa à estomia intestinal.
