O estudo objetivou identificar estratégias de promoção da saúde dos idosos brasileiros na produção científica. Realizou-se busca nos bancos de dados da Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, Biblioteca Regional de Medicina, Literatura Latino-Americana em Ciências da Saúde e Sistema Online de Busca e Análise de Literatura Médica, e descritores promoção da saúde e saúde do idoso. Incluíram-se 17 pesquisas, em língua portuguesa, publicadas de janeiro de 2006 a dezembro de 2009. Os resultados revelaram abordagens quantitativas (nove estudos) e qualitativas (oito estudos), havendo maior número de artigos a partir de 2006, com ápice em 2008. Estratégias de saúde mais frequentes: ações educativas, atividade física e diagnóstico de fatores de risco. Apenas dois artigos citaram estratégias interdisciplinares. A promoção da saúde do idoso no Brasil está em processo de integração, sendo necessário investir na construção de estratégias que façam articulação entre a Política Nacional de Promoção à Saúde e a realidade dos serviços.
ABSTRACT
This study aimed at identifying strategies to promote health among Brazilian elderly. Research was based in databases’ review: Virtual Health Library, Regional Library of Medicine, Latin American Health Sciences and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online. Method used the keywords health promotion and health of the elderly. Included original texts, in Portuguese language, released between January of 2006 and December of 2009, where 17 were selected. The results revealed quantitative approaches (nine studies) and qualitative (eight studies). The largest number of articles was found from 2006 up to 2008. More frequent health strategies: educational actions, physical activities and risk factories diagnosis. Only two articles cited interdisciplinary strategies. The health promotion among Brazilian elderly is in integration process, which it will be need strong investment on building strategies to integrate the National Policy of Health Promotion with the true reality of services.
RESUMEN
El estudio objetivó identificar estrategias de promoción de la salud de ancianos brasileños en la producción científica. Se realizó búsqueda en los bancos de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual de Salud, Biblioteca Regional de Medicina, Literatura Latinoamericana en Ciencias de la Salud y Sistema on-line de Búsqueda y Análisis de Literatura Médica, y descriptores promoción de la salud y salud del anciano. Fueron incluidas 17 investigaciones en lengua portuguesa, publicadas de enero de 2006 a diciembre de 2009. Los resultados revelaron enfoques cuantitativos (nueve estudios) y cualitativos (ocho estudios), habiendo más artículos a partir de 2006 con ápice en 2008. Estrategias de salud más frecuentes: acciones educativas, actividad física y diagnóstico de factores de riesgo. Solamente dos artículos citaron estrategias interdisciplinarias. La promoción de la salud del anciano, en Brasil, está en proceso de integración, siendo necesario investirse en la elaboración de estratégias que hagan articulación en la Política Nacional de Promoción a la Salud y la realidad de los servicios.
