Satisfação profissional da equipe de enfermagem intensivista de um hospital de ensino [Job satisfaction of intensive nursing staff of a teaching hospital]

Estudo descritivo, analítico, realizado em outubro de 2010, o qual objetivou determinar o índice de satisfação no trabalho (IST) da equipe de enfermagem da unidade de terapia intensiva adulta e averiguar a influência das características sociodemográficas dessa equipe sobre a satisfação profissional. Aplicou-se o questionário IST em 27 (82%) profissionais de um hospital universitário do Noroeste do Paraná. Os dados foram tratados por análise descritiva. Constatou-se IST de 11,01 entre os técnicos de enfermagem e 8,62 entre os enfermeiros. As características gênero feminino; faixa etária entre 20 e 29 anos; estado civil casado; com filhos; duplo vínculo empregatício; baixa remuneração; maior tempo de atuação em unidade crítica e a função enfermeiro efetivaram-se em menores níveis de satisfação. Concluiu-se que a equipe se encontrava insatisfeita no trabalho e as causas relacionaram-se à falta de reconhecimento da profissão, dificuldades de interação e baixa remuneração.
ABSTRACT
Descriptive and analytic study, conducted in October, 2010. It aims both at determining Index of Work Satisfaction (IWS) of adult intensive care unit nursing staff and at assessing the influence of socio demographic characteristics of that team on job satisfaction. The IWS questionnaire was applied to 27 (82%) intensive care professionals from a university hospital in northwestern Paraná, Brazil. Data were treated by descriptive analysis. An 11.01 IWS was identified among nursing technicians and an 8.62 IWS among nurses. Outstanding profile characteristics were as follows: female; from 20 to 29 years old; married; with children; dual employment; low remuneration; working in critical unit for longer time aa well as holding a position as a nurse together occurred on lower levels of job satisfaction. Conclusions show staff’s dissatisfaction at work resulted from lack of profession reassurance, interaction difficulties, and low remuneration.
RESUMEN
Estudio descriptivo, analítico, realizado en octubre de 2010, que objetivó determinar el índice de satisfacción en el trabajo (IST) del equipo de enfermería de la unidad de cuidado intensivo adulto y investigar la influencia de las características sociodemográficas de eso equipo acerca de la satisfacción laboral. Se aplicó el cuestionario IST en 27 (82%) profesionales intensivistas de un hospital universitario en el Noroeste de Paraná – Brasil. Los datos fueron tratados por análisis descriptivo. Se constató IST de 11.01 entre los técnicos de enfermería y 8.62 entre los enfermeros. Las características género femenino; edad 20 y 29 años; casado; con niños; doble empleo; baja remuneración; mayor tiempo en unidad crítica; y función enfermero se efectuaron en menores niveles de satisfacción laboral. Se concluyó que el personal se encontraba insatisfecho en el trabajo y las causas se relacionaron a la falta de reconocimiento de la profesión, dificultades de interacción y baja remuneración.
